Message - "Error while connecting to server"


What should I do if I receive an "Error while connecting to server, please check your internet connection or firewall settings" message?

Possible solutions

  • If your are behind a firewall or using software like ZoneAlarm or Norton, try to disable them.
  • Check your internet connection
  • Wait 5-10 minutes. Sometimes we have to reboot our systems for new releases.
  • Contact our 24/7 support
  • Support-Request

Message "Wrong username or password"


I receive a "Wrong username or password" message.
What is wrong?

Possible solutions:

  • If you have forgotten your username or your password, click the "Lost password / nickname" link on the login screen.
  • If you are still unsuccessful in retrieving your password, contact us at:

Dice reliability


Is it possible for any player to hack the dice or moves?

  • There is no way to manipulate the dice or moves as they are generated on our servers.
  • There is no direct contact at any time between your computer and your opponent's computer.
  • All the communication is encrypted 128 bit SSL (like online banking).

Player's Strength


What is a player's strength and how is it calculated?

  • After every game you win or lose strength.
  • Higher values mean more experience
  • All players start with strength 1200.
  • There are two different player strength's - real money and fun money strength.

Auto-roll function


Why do the dice roll automatically ?
Possible reasons:

  • When roll is the only possible option, then the dice are automatically rolled.
  • You marked the "auto-roll" function as active

Doubling cube


When can i double my opponent ?
You can double under the following conditions:

  • The doubling cube is available
  • The game limit is set higher than the original sum involved
  • The cube is on your side

How to deposit money into my account?

Connection lost / left Game


I lost the connection to the server while playing -> you lose
My opponent lost the connection -> I won

 

Why?

  • In cases where one of the players connection is lost he can get back into the game within the time for a turn and the game continues. If they do not return to the game the player who is leading the game will be win the relative amount of money of that game.

Time over


I ran out of time / opponent ran out of time -> game over
Why ?

  • The player who runs out of time loses the game.
  • Normal / Match time limit: 45 seconds for every turn.
  • Lightning Game time limit: 30 seconds for every turn

Deposit money


How can I deposit money into my account?


To add funds to your account:

  • Start the Online Backgammon Empire software
  • Enter your username and password
  • Click on "Cashier"
  • Enter your contact informations
  • Click on "Deposit"
  • The browser will open the payment page
  • Select your preferred deposit method
  • Come back to the Online Backgammon Empire software
  • The money is now on your Online Backgammon Empire account

 

How long it take to process my deposit?
Deposits made using credit cards, PayPal or Moneybookers, are usually added to your balance within a few seconds.

Withdrawal options


How do I withdraw my winnings ?

You can withdraw money by following the steps:

  • Start the Online Backgammon Empire software
  • Enter your username and password
  • Click on "Cashier"
  • Enter the desired sum and click on "Withdraw"

All withdrawals are processed within 24-48 hours, except for Wire Transfer.

 

Note: we do not charge any fees for withdrawals.
The minimal amount to withdraw is $30 (for wire transfer $200)

Restricted activities:

  • You may not harass other participants.
    Please respect other players and try to refrain from using abusive language in the chat window.

  • You may not send SPAM to other players

  • You may not use any software to assist play

  • You may not transfer money between accounts

  • You may not open more than one account per person

  • You may not play if you are resident of any state or territory, in which you are prohibited by law to participate in this game or win any promotional prizes.

If you perform any of the restricted activities listed above, your account may be terminated immediately.
